Comedy Writing Bootcamp with Ross Bennett, Starting December 12th

Comedy Writing Bootcamp is a no-nonsense 6 week intensive push to help you create, develop and polish new material.

Our instructor focuses on helping each student discover their own personal sense of humor, and then mine it for the comedy gold that is unique to them.

Each 3 hour class is broken into 2 parts. The first part is going over the jokes that were written based on the previous week's assignment followed by the lesson for the following week. In the second part the students break out their notebooks and the instructor workshops their material, old and new, analyzing their jokes and figuring out where the problems may lie.

In the process you will learn the nuts and bolts of what it takes to create smart professional material that you can take on stage and be proud of.

In bootcamp we ask and expect you to perform at least once a week at an open mic. After all, Stand-Up Comedy is 50% writing and 50% performance. Ultimately the only way to really know if a joke works is to tell it onstage.

Our instructor is willing to share his 39 years of experience with his students. He will view and critique videos (5 min or less) of each student twice during run of the course, answer questions about the business, and tweak some jokes (no more than 2 or 3 at a time) via email throughout the 6 weeks.

There is not graduation show for the Bootcamp.
