Calise Hawkins is a Standup comedian and Writer for "That Damn Michael Che" on HBOmax and a Story Editor for "Everything's Trash" starring Phoebe Robinson on Hulu. She's performed on NBC's "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon", Oxygen's "Funny Girls", Comedy Central's "Russel Simmons Presents", Kevin Hart's "LOL Series", Comedy Central's "The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore" , and W. Kamau Bell's "Totally Biased", amongst others. She's also written for Comedy Central’s "@midnight" , Disney's "Walk The Prank", Disney's "Just Roll With It", Comedy Central's "Hood Adjacent", Aisha Tyler's "Unapologetic", MTV's "Girl Code", Trutv's "Comedy Knockout", GSN's "Lie Detectors", and MTV's "Charlemagne And Friends" and MTV's "Totally Clueless."
THIS CLASS IS LIVE, IN PERSON, TAUGHT IN NYC.
This class is for total beginners, people who have always dreamed of trying stand-up. You will learn basic joke structure and find your on-stage persona. Every week, you will perform with a microphone in front of your fellow classmates.
The graduation show at New York Comedy Club is an amazing experience, an unforgettable way to jumpstart your comedy career, and includes a broadcast-quality recording of your set.
ALL STUDENTS WILL PERFORM IN A GRADUATION SHOW AT A MAJOR NEW YORK COMEDY CLUB.
