Learning to liven up your set with mastery of these performance skills can transform the average comic into a beast.
This engaging and interactive course will add depth and variety to your comedic performances and separate you from other comedians who don’t have these skills.
This class gives you the skills to switch from character to character, impersonate celebrities, family members and pop culture icons, and create bits that live beyond your average set up and punchline.
This rare, one-of-a-kind class is taught by award-winning Juilliard drama graduate Kate Siahaan-Rigg, who has also created 3 comedy-based series for television, given classes at several prestigious institutions including Wolf Trap Arts Center, La Guardia and Juilliard, and acted in multiple world premieres at EST, Playwrights Horizons, ACT, The Public Theater and more. Her one-person character-based shows have been invited to the Comedy Central Theater, The Smithsonian Institute, The Montreal Comedy Festival, the Vancouver International Comedy Festival, and Theaters around the world. Students will have the rare opportunity to amplify their sets with incredible new tools. Due to Ms. Rigg's schedule, this class is not often offered, and spaces are limited.
Dive deep into the art of creating memorable characters, perfecting spot-on impersonations, executing dynamic act-outs, and mastering diverse accents.
Whether you're a novice looking to break into the comedy scene or a seasoned performer aiming to enhance your skills, this class will equip you with the tools to captivate any audience.
All students will perform in a graduation show, date TBD.
